Iphupho means dream or vision in Xhosa. Babes and Zita, founders and co-owners, finally make their dream come true and opened the beautiful and inspirational gift shop in the centre of Knysna. 

The aim of the shop is to stimulate creativity in producing handmade products and designs and with this, create jobs to members of our community and surrounds.

But it’s not only a shop!

At the 4 metre long table, you can meet the women and men who are creating their unique products. For example Mike “the leatherman” who creates the most beautiful leather items from ostrich or cow leather.

At the back of the shop, you find our team of seamstresses- Patience, Liyema and Florrie with their professional sewing machines and knowledge. Get something made with an African twist!

What we love best are their workshop facilities. It’s a perfect way to spend a couple of hours in the heart of Knysna. From making little clay bowls to shweshwe material coasters, you will have something completely unique to take home with you… 

These workshops are relaxing and allow you to socialise and connect with real people living in Knysna. We just love them! (We know you will too).
